2022 Second Assist $50,000 Recipient
Cape Breton Blizzard Female Hockey Association – Cape Breton, Nova Scotia
In their winning application, the Cape Breton Female Hockey Association committed to using the $50,000 grant to expand hockey accessibility in their community by helping to create teams in First Nations communities, develop all-female referee crews, train female and BIPOC coaches, and implement a financial assistance program. These initiatives will reach an additional 160 new-to-hockey players, 10 new goaltenders, 14 officials and 20 coaches.
