“Join us in removing barriers and making hockey accessible
for more Canadians.”
For this milestone year, we’ve partnered with renowned Canadian athletes to celebrate the power of assists.
Each athlete represents one of five regions across Canada, and will serve as the community’s ambassador, encouraging Canadians to nominate and vote!
Meet Our Ambassadors
The power of an assist helped each of us achieve our hockey dreams. Coming together as ambassadors for the Kruger Big Assist, we’re proud to extend that assist to help more Canadian kids access the game, while inspiring the next generation of players to embrace the spirit of the assist - on the ice and beyond.
Macklin Celebrini
#1 2024 NHL Draft Pick
Representing Team Pacific
Macklin Celebrini was lucky to have had the opportunity to play hockey from a young age and believes every kid who wants to play should get that opportunity. As the Kruger Big Assist ambassador for the Pacific region, he’s teaming up with other players to help give Canadian kids the boost they need to hit the ice and discover their love for the game.
Hayley Wickenheiser
Five-time Olympic Medalist, Hockey Hall of Famer
Representing Team Atlantic
Hayley's community played a huge role in her minor hockey journey, giving her the support and assists she needed to succeed. As a long-term the Kruger Big Assist ambassador and representing Atlantic Canada this year, she's proud to extend that assist to hockey communities to get more kids out on the ice and into the game.
Nazem Kadri
Stanley Cup® Champion
Representing Team Prairies
The support Nazem received from his parents during his minor hockey days was key to shaping him into the player he is today. Now, as the Kruger Big Assist ambassador for the Prairies, he’s raising awareness about accessibility and inclusivity in hockey, helping ensure that all kids, no matter their background, have the chance to play, and for their parents to be able to give them that opportunity.
Marie-Philip Poulin
Four-time Olympic Medalist, Three-time World Champion
Representing Team Quebec
Marie-Philip Poulin’s brother provided her with her first assist and allowed her to develop a love for hockey that put her on the path to success. While assists can come in many shapes, whether that’s financial, volunteer or emotional support, Marie-Phillip understands each assist has a positive impact. As the Kruger Big Assist ambassador for Quebec, Marie-Philip is passing on the assist to help more Canadian kids access hockey.
Natalie Spooner
Three-time Olympic Medalist, Three-time World Champion
Representing Team Ontario
Natalie Spooner learned invaluable life skills like work ethic, confidence, and time management throughout her hockey career. While she learned them on the ice, they’re skills that go far beyond the rink. As the Kruger Big Assist ambassador for Ontario, Natalie is excited to help more kids get into the game and experience minor hockey programs that set them up to dream big and go after their goals.
