Talk about multi-tasking! Model/photographer/first-year law school student/fashion designer VANESSA KIRALY is a 23-year-old creative dynamo. Her sewing skills, she says, were learned from her seamstress mother while growing up in the Georgian Bay area, and she expects they’ll continue to evolve even as she pursues a law degree at Ryerson. The clothes Vanessa creates—which have appeared in the TORONTO STAR and ATLAS magazine—are full of drama and whimsy, evoking fairy tale narratives with their ebullient silhouettes, elaborate contrasting textures and fearless colour combinations. One can only imagine the story she’ll tell with Cashmere Bathroom Tissue for this year’s Cashmere Collection! 

One can wonder how powerhouse VANESSA KIRALY managed her Ryerson Law School studies while simultaneously creating her fabulously frothy Cashmere Collection entry. Vanessa estimates that 34 hours went into crafting and painting the 400+ roses that comprise her halter-neck gown’s long split skirt and nestle among Bathroom Tissue ruffles in its elegant sleeves.
