Creating ethical women’s wear is the guiding principle behind GENIA DE MARCO’s label Genia Evalina, which debuted in 2018. Locally sourced deadstock and all-natural organic fabrics— silks, hemps, and cottons—are the media for her youthful, indisputably contemporary made-to-order silhouettes. Having studied theatre design before switching to fashion studies at LaSalle College, this Montréal native designs to “empower and inspire women.” In this regard, Genia is very much in sync with the Cashmere Collection’s dedication to raising much needed awareness and support for the breast cancer cause.

You might say that GENIA DE MARCO’s creation has a demur allure, worthy of a Proustian heroine. The principal of Montreal’s Genia Evalina collection has enhanced the appeal of her snowy white column dress with a sheer, puff-sleeve overlay for the strapless, empire bodice; with abbreviated rows of flirty Cashmere Bathroom Tissue ruffles on its skirt, and with delicate floral motifs in pearlescent glue and pearl beads scattered across the gown.
