Calgary designer MARISA P. CLARK’s contemporary women’s wear collection, FAUN, has a very distinct personality; all its dresses, shirts and pants exude an unabashed femininity and creative playfulness. At the same time, this 2016 graduate of the London College of Fashion is quite serious about producing her line sustainably and ethically in Vietnam, her mother’s birthplace. Since its 2017 debut, FAUN has been featured at Western Canada, Vancouver, L.A., New York and Paris fashion weeks, and now is showing for the first time in the Cashmere Collection 2021.
Artful detailing highlights MARISA P. CLARK’s scrumptious Cashmere Collection confection. The Calgary-based FAUN label designer employed a technique of raised tucks to create the bodice’s delicate floral motif. Relaxed box pleats generate the waist-to-floor tiers of flouncy, double-layer “ruffles.” The pièce de résistance? Saucy pink satin corset laces, bringing the whole outfit together through a modern take.
