Toronto fashion designer (and U of T business grad) ANISHA KUMAR has a simple goal for her unique and extravagantly alluring ready-to-wear and made-to-order special occasion gowns: “I’ve always been the type of person that, when something doesn’t exist, I’ll go out and I’ll make it!” After a 2018 trip to India sparked her interest in her Southeast Asian heritage, Anisha launched her eponymous label focused on expanding and modernizing traditional Indian idioms—the vibrant sense of colour, the elaborate embroidered and metallic brocade fabrics and the sari components, such as the fitted, cropped bodice or choli. Her unique design styles will lend themselves well to the Cashmere Collection 2021. 

There’s no mistaking Toronto designer ANISHA KUMAR’s intentions with this Cashmere Collection confection. Her strapless mini-dress—with its channeled bodice and braided “belt”—is all about sweet seduction. The long, voluminous train is the added whipped cream on top!
