Having completed his studies at the Academy of Fashion Design, TOME KOICHOPOLIS began his professional career in 1988 designing custom collections for women. In 1992 he launched TOME Dress Salon, a couture-quality line of dreamy, sometimes whimsical, sometimes ornately beaded or embroidered, women’s evening wear. The secret to his Cashmere Collection 2019 creation is TOME’s undying admiration for fashion legend Jean Paul Gaultier and his iconic trench coats. 

Serious experimentation went into TOME’s remarkable interpretation of the classic Jean-Paul Gaultier shirtdress. To achieve its astounding sunburst-pleated peplum-ed skirt, he lined sheets of Cashmere Bathroom Tissue with fabric, heat pleated them together and then removed the fabric backing. The crystal pleating of the bodice was an ode to the classic Gaultier form.
