Richard Wei is a Vancouver-based fashion designer known for his craftsmanship and contemporary design language shaped by Eastern and Western cultural influences. His work has been featured in Vogue, ELLE, and Harper’s Bazaar, and his latest collection was presented as part of New York Fashion Week.
Garment Inspiration
Richard’s Symphony of Softness interprets life as a composition of emotions, experiences, and human connections. Inspired by breast cancer survivors, the design uses soft blush-pink accents within a predominantly white silhouette to symbolize compassion, courage, healing, and resilience. Transforming Cashmere bathroom tissue into couture, the gown combines layers, movement, texture, and structure to express harmony and unity, with each fold and sculptural detail contributing to a larger composition.
