Kelsey MacDonald founded Kelsey Erin, a womenswear label launched at Atlantic Fashion Week in Halifax in 2016. Focusing on contemporary separates produced in limited editions in Nova Scotia, Kelsey Erin combines timeless design with elevated details. In addition to her work as a designer, Kelsey has spent the past decade as an executive in fashion technology, helping to drive innovation while advocating for a more ethical and sustainable future for fashion.
Garment Inspiration
Kelsey’s gown is inspired by Christopher Tin’s Waloyo Yamoni, a song about overcoming obstacles and finding hope and joy. Reflecting the song’s movement between powerful passages and quieter moments, the design combines soft draping with structured elements and shoulder beading reminiscent of armour, representing the strength women carry through life’s challenges.
