Catherine Addai-Boadu is the founder and creative director of KAELA KAY, a Canadian inclusive womenswear brand known for its bold use of colour, contemporary silhouettes, and celebration of African-inspired design. Born in Ghana and based in Toronto, Catherine launched the brand in 2013 and has spent more than a decade building a globally recognized label that empowers women through fashion.
Garment Inspiration
Inspired by the beauty of a symphony, this dress represents the harmony of many paths coming together as one. Alternating layers of Cashmere tissue and soft pink organza symbolize different notes in life, ones that are fragile and strong, quiet and powerful. The cascading ribbons from the shoulder flow like music in motion, weaving through each layer and uniting every element into a single, composition of resilience, hope and shared strength.
