Born in Gaspésie and now based in Montreal, Angie Larocque is an actress, model, fashion designer, and multidisciplinary artist. In her Montreal atelier, Angie crafts each gown like a ritual. She sculpts, she writes, she redefines femininity through a visceral, instinctive process she calls Authorial Couture, a practice that exists outside of trends, often in defiance of them. For Angie, fashion is a living art form.
Garment Inspiration
Angie’s piece is titled, Heart of Foam and is an ode to her roots, of the wind-swept rocks of Gaspésie to the sea that cradled her, and to the mythical creatures it conceals. It evokes a woman from the abyss part mermaid, part coral bearing a sacred shell upon her heart.
