Rod Philpott is the founder of SHKANK INC, a wearable couture fashion house known for bold, original designs that celebrate individuality. After graduating from the Academy of Design and serving as a key buyer for a major denim retailer, Rod launched SHKANK INC to create fun, outrageous pieces for club kids and fashion-forward individuals. Over 25 years, his one-of-a-kind creations have appeared on stages and red carpets including NBC’s Miss Universe, So You Think You Can Dance, the Grammys, Oscars, and CTV’s Juno Awards. He’s contributed to various charity fashion shows supporting causes from AIDS awareness to breast cancer.
Garment Inspiration
Rod was inspired by the Canadian outdoors, specifically the arctic snow drifts and their movements which he embodies in the ridges of the dress.
